The Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) is the agency in the Presidency with the responsibility of ensuring the effective and efficient implementation of the public service reforms of the of Nigeria.

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is to:

  1. educate Nigerian citizens about democracy and the process;
  2. provide for voter registration;
  3. compile a credible voters’ register;
  4. demarcate constituency boundaries; v. organize and conduct credible elections;
  5. monitor the conduct of political parties;
  6. audit the finances of political parties, and
  7. promote an enduring democratic culture in Nigeria.

The menace of these crimes and the recognition of the magnitude and gravity of the situation led to the establishment of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (). The legal instrument backing the Commission is the attached (Establishment) Act 2002 and the Commission has high-Ievel support from the Presidency, the Legislature and key security and law enforcement agencies in Nigeria.

National (NPC) of Nigeria was established by the in 1988. It has the statutory powers to collect, analyze and disseminate population/demographic data in the country. It is also mandated to undertake demographic sample surveys, compile, collate and publish migration and civil registration statistics as well as monitor the country’s Population Policy.

The Commission was reconstituted in 2001 with a Chairman and 37 members representing each state of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory. The Commission has a network of offices covering all the administrative tiers of the country: Federal, State and Local Government Areas (LGAs).

The Immigration Department as it was known then, was entrusted with the core Immigration duties under the headship of the Chief Federal Immigration Officer (CFIO). The department in its embryo inherited the Immigration Ordinance of 1958 for its operation. At inception the department had a narrow operational scope and maintained a low profile and simple approach in attaining the desired goals and objectives of the government. During this period, only the Visa and Business Sections were set up.

ndaThe () is the officer cadets training institution in Nigeria. It was established in January 1964 in response to one of the defence needs of the then newly independent Nigeria to train Nigerian Cadets for commission into the 3 armed services, the Army, Navy and Air Force. The initial training team comprised mainly of Indian Army officers.

Prior to this time, the institution was called the Royal Military Forces Training College (RMFTC). Upon independence, it was renamed the Nigerian Military Training College (NMTC). In its 40 years of existence, NDA has undergone several significant transformations. In 1978, the training team became fully indigenised while in 1985 NDA was upgraded to a degree awarding institution.
