Dear Sir,
Pls help!SOS!!!
My fiance Mayowa from Ogun State& works in Ogun State, I’m from delta state and live in Lagos.
On 11february when he was supposed to live his place of work and see my parent for our introduction to come soon in the year, hit and killed by mistake an okada man along Lagos/Ibadan expressway due to overtaking by the okadaman. My fiance is a responsible guy and never drank or smoked.Since then he has been remanded in Ibara prison even after settling family as directed by court since feb 2010.He had chest injuries for which he was attended to though i dont know if it was thorough on feb 11 and by feb 12, he was thrown to ibara prison in ogunstate. He painfully celbrated his may 1st birthday in the cell and was not there for me while i celebrated mine on 21may 2010.This wasn’t my bargain! The family of the dead okademan had benevolently dropped the case, but Ogun State’s judiciary workers managed to call off their strike on 7 april with proper case sitting for anyone on 12 april, when they sat they adjourned his case to may 26 and now it is adjourned again. You adjourn a case when the person in question hopefully would be alive by then.Mayowa’s health, job, psche, morale has seriously failed and i dont want him to die. If the okadaman’s family head has signed the case withdrawal form to discontinue the case, why should he still be there in ibara prison jeopardising our future.
I am 33 years old & took time to pick who i wanted as a husband only to be delayed indefinitely by an unwilling court marred by adjournments&strikes.
Pls sir, in the spirit of democracy day celebration, help to strike out this case which two families have struck off if not that the police brought it to an unwilling court.
i wish you happy & blissful married life too, pls, liaise with the judiciary in ogun state and the governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel if possible,
Thank you very much sir, God bless you sir.

my comment is mend for Federal Ministry of Finance. who so ever is incharge of comments should in the name of God please use his/her office to save the lives of so many nigerians under the pension and gratuity ages from the wicked hands of those working in the pension office eg police pension. i want to use this opportunity to thank the government of olusegun obasanjo for the pension reform program. it has help to solve the problems of the nigeria police retirees from june 2007 to date. once you retire, maximally, six months if all document are intact, your money is paid. what about those that retired before then? i know of so many police personnel that have died waiting for their gratuity and pension. my father died waiting for his entitlement for over three years no pension no gratuity as an assistant superintendent of police (ASP). after suffering fraustration from prolong promotion, promoting the junior officer that can bribe for ranks over senior officers just to fraustrate them. he retired successfully with hunger sickness and he had no money to treat himself and also struggle in the barracks to feed himself, wife and his eight children that are drop out and jobless. tell me, is it a crime to serve ones country? when you go to the nigeria police pension office at jabi in abuja, the people there demand for so much money from you for doing government work, is it fair? for somebody who has no job and can not sustain two square meal a day to bring 100 thousand naira before he processes and collects what is due to him. is it good? even when they pay some of these retirees their pension or gratuity, especially gratuity and pension arrears, they short pay them because they know that 95% of these people do not know how this entitlements are calculated. yet the federal government gives lot of money to police for retirees and pensioners and they are dieing from fraustration and sicknesses for non payment of their entitlements on daily basis while those in the police pension smile to the banks and also trade with these poor peoples money. i know of a retired police inspector who retired 2006, his name came out for payment 2010. quest what, the total money was 4million naira. 2.5m for gratuity, 1.5m for arrears. the man shouted ’2.5m for 35years’. is this fair?haven wasted his time and also used his money for four years, no interst. ah! God will purnish some people! pls, kindly use your office to help us and not only the government will reward by salary or payment God will also reward you. thanks.
