10,000 Jostle for INEC Jobs in Abia state, Nigeria
Umuahia — The high level of unemployment in Nigeria came to the fore on Tuesday when over 10000 applicants in Abia state desperately jostled for few vacancies in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Before 7.am, venue of the exercise, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu Township Stadium, Umuahia had been filled to the brim by the applicants who never wanted to take chances.
Senate ready to amend 1999 Constitution today
The Senate will on Thursday (today) take its final votes on the amendments to the 1999 Constitution.
The decision would have been taken on Wednesday but for the discovery that proposed amendments to Section 109 were not included in the documents which were circulated among senators.
A record 97 out of the 109 senators began the amendment of 36 clauses of the 1999 Constitution.

ABUJA, March 16 (Reuters) – Nigeria’s election commission will on Tuesday announce two possible timetables for presidential, parliamentary and state polls pending the outcome of electoral reforms before parliament, officials said.
Anambra tribunal begins sitting
The Anambra State Election Petitions Tribunal has adjourned hearing till Saturday in an application filed by the Hope Democratic Party seeking to stop the Chief Judge of Anambra State from inaugurating Mr. Peter Obi as the governor of the state on March 17.
Obi, the incumbent governor of Anambra State, was the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance in the February 6, 2010 governorship election.
