Nigeria’s senate has labelled as illegal the Post UME tests carried out by Nigerian universities and have begun moves to scrap it.

Nigeria’s upper legislature has described as “illegal” the post University Matriculation Examination conducted by Universities nationwide.

At the plenary session on Thursday, a motion by Senator Heineken Lokpobiri prompted the Senate to commission its Committee on Education to undertake a comprehensive investigation into the activities of those universities who indulge in such illegality.

Is a very good idea to scrap away post jamb. I don’t even see the reason of writing multiple exams to gain admission, why must we even stress ourselve b4 admission is been given to a candidete. It is true that most of this exam s r illegal, the use it to extort money from candidete,so the senate r right.

This matter is not easy to solve. The universities do not trust JAMB to conduct credible exams. Many also believe that the universities are enriching themselves through the post-UMEs. What do we do? Scrapping only cannot be the solution. Maybe it should be standardized, somehow.

Yes i support the senate to scrap the post Ume off cus even after several stress of writing the UME Exam and managing to pass on writing the so called post ume, The school under the so called post ume hide to do evil by exracting those who bring money to the school Authority to pay their way into the institution and the less privilege and those that have no money to bribe in or thet do not know any body will be left out in Admission list so it would be better if JAMB could be giving the chance to offer Admission to student that pass the UTME Exam.
